Flat Timber Connectors
Flat timber connectors from Ristek Polska are a reliable solution for durable and aesthetic joining of wooden elements in construction. They are suitable for roof trusses, timber frame structures, gazebos, and roofing, as well as for assembly work in industry or manufacturing, and also in the railway, forestry, and packaging industries. Our flat timber connectors are produced by a Finnish manufacturer because we prioritize solid craftsmanship, high resistance in all conditions, and a reliable, trustworthy supplier. What Are Flat Timber Connectors?
Flat timber connectors are metal fastening elements (in the form of spiked plates) used for permanently joining wooden components. Flat timber connectors operate on a simple principle of pressing/nailing/pressing the connector into the wood – without the need for complex procedures. This makes the connection fast, stable, and easily repeatable. Flat timber connectors are used, among other applications, in roof structures (prefabricated trusses), timber frame construction, roofing, and industrial production, such as wooden frames, crates, packaging elements, or protection against end-grain splitting.
Who Are Our Flat Timber Connectors For?
Flat timber connectors are primarily dedicated to customers who structurally join wooden elements and require fast, repeatable, and strong connections. These include:
- Manufacturers of trusses and prefabricated roof structures
- Construction companies and carpenters installing roof trusses and other wooden structures
- Designers and structural engineers selecting connectors for joints in wooden structures
- Carpentry shops and manufacturers of wooden elements (e.g., frames, trusses, light structures)
- Forestry industry – for protecting logs from cracking immediately after felling
- Railway industry – for protecting railway sleepers from cracking

What You Need to Know About Flat Timber Connectors
Compared to nails or glues, flat timber connectors provide more stable fastening because they distribute forces over a larger area and reinforce critical points, such as the core zone of the wood or permissible wood defects like knots. Properly selected and correctly installed flat timber connectors can transfer heavy loads, increasing the durability of the structure and enhancing the safety level of the entire construction.
Flat Timber Connectors for Roof Trusses
Flat timber connectors are most commonly used for joining roof trusses. They are a practical and proven solution used in the assembly of elements that form the basis of the roof structure. Flat timber connectors reinforce the connections of beams and other truss components, giving the entire structure greater stability and resistance to applied loads – both permanent and variable, as well as climatic loads (e.g., wind or snow). Their advantage is solid steel construction, which translates into high strength and resistance to mechanical damage. The large surface area of the connector and the appropriate arrangement and unique geometry of the spikes help distribute forces evenly in the joint, increasing the safety of the entire structure and reducing the risk of wood movement and loosening of fasteners.
Flat Timber Connectors in Industrial Production for Prefabricated Roof Structures
We offer flat timber connectors dedicated to manufacturers of prefabricated roof structures, which enable solid, repeatable, and stable connections of wooden elements in trusses and ready-made truss modules. Thanks to their well-thought-out geometry and proper spike arrangement, these connectors facilitate precise assembly both in the production plant and on-site for “Combi” plates, while supporting even load transfer at structural nodes.
Send us a drawing of the “node” or the basic parameters of the truss – we will help you select the appropriate type of flat timber connectors for your prefabrication technology, strength, and assembly requirements.
Flat Timber Connectors in Industrial Production
Flat timber connectors are also widely used in industrial production for packaging and transport protection (crates, frames, dividers, pallets), as well as in the furniture and equipment industry (frames, auxiliary structures, assembly elements). Thanks to their design, they allow wood (and often wood with wood-based materials) to be joined in a stable and predictable manner. Flat timber connectors are a proven solution where fast assembly, repeatability of connections, and high durability of finished elements are crucial.
